Happy weekend everybody! We have no plan to speak up and that makes me very happy. Last weekend we had no concrete plans and we decided to do a last minute camping trip with buddies up in Venture, and it turned out to be an amazing memorable time. So who knows what this weekend may bring. Maybe a little bay beach picnic is in order if the sun decides to shine on us. See you all Monday. XO View high resolution

At around 4 o’clock this morning I was awoken with some sweet goodbye kisses and words of love before my husband hit the open road to Project Las Vegas. We promised to celebrate Valentines Day when he gets back, but when I finally rolled myself out of bed, at a much more decent hour, I stumbled up this little creation. A homemade Valentine made with lots of love. That’s the kind of stuff that makes my heart all a flitter for my Dougie. He is the sweetest loving boy and after 7 years together I still think I hit the ultimate jackpot in finding him. He sure is a cutie and I can’t wait to get my boy home to celebrates Valentines Day!
P.S. Don’t worry Dougie, I wasn’t tipped off by the strong smell of spray paint and red paint on your hands when I came home last night ;) View high resolution

This past weekend was the best kind of weekend. Filled with friends, family, sunshine, boat cruises, chicken pot pie Sunday dinner, the yummiest chocolate croissants, car shows with amazing people watching and lots of time just hanging with my favorite boy.

Happy weekend everybody! I’m determined to finally hit up our local farmers market on Saturday and you should too! It makes for a fun date with your love. So lace up those shoes and jump on those bikes for a wonderful local weekend.

You know what folks? I feel the need to get a little more personal on this here blog. Just about every blog I follow touches on a personal level at least once a week and those are the posts I most look forward too. So in the new year I vow to kick this little blog of mine up a notch in the personal department and turn it into something I would actually read myself. I think I’ll shoot for once a week, starting with this photo of my husband looking super cute (which he will probably be embarrassed of me posting, but I can’t resist)
P.S. I feel the need to change the title of my blog to “Hello Sushine”, something a little more exciting than my name.  View high resolution

Happy Birthday to the cutest, funniest, strongest, happiest, coziest, and most creative boy around. You can truly accomplish anything. I may be biased, but I just think Dougie Mann is the best and I feel so blessed to spend the rest of my life with this amazing boy. You were a “bundle of joy” and loved by so many since the day you arrived 28 years ago. I love you Husband!

A year ago today I married the most amazing boy in the world who I fall in love with more and more everyday. My best friend, the cutest boy ever and (even though this word is cheesy I don’t know how else to put it) my soul mates. We were made for one another and I feel so blessed to be his partner through life. Our wedding day was perfect and I wish I could relive it over and over again. Happy Anniversary to us! Mr. & Mrs. Nellesen

I’ve been meaning to blog about my sister’s AMAZING wedding from the moment I first saw the spectacular photos. I knew it would take some serious time sitting down and selecting out of 900 photos which ones I wanted to use. However I eventually gave up and snagged most of the photos straight off the blog of their talented photographer, Gabriel Ryan. Let’s face it, he already did the hard work for me and my zip file of all the photos still says it has another 45 minutes to download.

A little bit about Kathleen and Bob; They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and are the type of couple you never get tired of being around. I cried through my entire speech trying to express to Kathleen how much I love her and what an amazing sister she has been my entire life. It wasn’t the prettiest speech, but hopefully I got the point across that I just love her so much and can’t believe she found a man who matches her in kindness and will take care for her to the end.

Their wedding took place on Catalina Island, a place we have been going to every summer as a family since we were born, with the ceremony at Descanso and the reception in the Casino. It was a weekend of FUN that lead up to a wedding that knocked the socks of any other. There were lots of joyful tears (especially on the Bob’s part), fish themed everything (the table numbers were all fish, vintage fish vases to be used at the cocktail our, Marlin envelope liners for the invitation (by Posh Paperie or course), a marlin shaped groom’s cake, gorgeous flower arrangements (succulents and peonies), the BEST streamers for the walk back down the aisle (they shot at least 30 feet in the air and came raining down over everybody: best exit ever), a dance floor filled from the moment we walked in the reception, a view that can’t be beat, and most importantly a couple that was so clearly in love. My sister and mom worked  incredibly hard on every little details that came together and created the most unique and joyful wedding. They put together everything from home made lamps on the table to the candles wrapped in scenes from Catalina. It was a wedding filled with love and a party which will go down in Catalina history (largest bar tab ever)!
